However, what’s more interesting is recent reports are beginning to show a trend supporting the notion that marijuana legalization also causes other businesses to thrive in the area as well! Legal marijuana causes business to thrive and the world is beginning to take notice! Here are a few ways that marijuana is having a positive result on industry performance!
Decreased Stigma
Everyone knows the cliche, potheads and stoners are lazy, forgetful, and just plain unmotivated! This couldn’t be further from the truth, and the public’s perception is beginning to change on this. Productivity reports also agree with this paradigm shift; in states where it is legalized employees are reported to be more productive, innovative, and creative. Their efficiency is also increased compared to areas and states where it is still regulated and illegal. Interestingly enough, research also points towards a trend where more patents are published and cited in states with legal marijuana; literally people’s willingness to be creative and invent new ideas skyrockets with access to marijauna!
Increased Innovation
Building off the previous idea, legal marijuana has positive results on the number of inventors in a given area. There are two theories for this, the first is that more people decide to dabble in inventive pursuits when given access to legal marijuana and the second is that inventors move to locations where it is already legalized, bolstering the creativity in that area.
Legal marijuana causes business to thrive; that’s just the fact of the matter! From making people more creative, to being a pull factor for creative people to move, marijuana even causes employee productivity to increase!
